Since opening in 2007 we continue to find new ways to deliver amazing food and share experiences with our customers and local community.
In late 2019 Boxer BBQ moved to it’s new location on South main St, in the heart of downtown Council Bluffs, Iowa.While renovating our historic building we made an unexpected discovery! Hidden behind the old plaster walls for decades was a mural painted by the iconic Thomas Cusack & Company in 1877. The vibrant colors of the lettering helped to create the comfortable and unique vibe of our dining room and banquet hall.
At Boxer we are serious about our barbecue. We purchase only the best quality Certified Angus beef brisket and prime rib. Our meats are dry rubbed, then slow smoked to lock in the moisture and create that delicious smoky flavor we all crave. We know some things are timeless. We’ve got you covered with items like our pulled pork sandwich and baby back ribs.
From our Best Selling Honey Cornbread to our signature sandwiches like the Happy Heifer, The Boxer menu is truly Unparalleled. Our Executive Chef at Boxer is behind the scenes “Taking classic BBQ and elevating it.” With a weekly chef special to experience there is always something fresh on the menu.
No meal should be complete without dessert and Boxer hits a home run with our handcrafted selection. We have to agree with our customers, our Deep-Fried Caramel Apple Bread Pudding and Brown Butter Cake are clearly the fan favorites.
It’s never been easier to experience Boxer than it is today. We offer Take-Out, Online Ordering, and Curbside Pickup for Lunch and Dinner.

Our full service bar features a variety of specialty drinks such as martinis and tropical Mai-Tai’s. On tap we have domestic and local craft beers. Our evolving wine selection pairs perfectly with our delicious smoked entrees.
